I go into my neighborhood Listserv. There are, as usual, about 25 postings. I scroll through and stop at one that is headlined “DC To Begin Paperless Ticketing”. I read the article: The DC government is going to save several million dollars per year by no longer issuing paper tickets for illegal parking. The tickets will be issued only electronically. You can access the information over the web by using your license plate. You should check the website about once a week; if your ticket languishes because you have not looked at it electronically, fines begin to mount. There is a very supportive quote from the mayor. The program is to start June 1.
